Illegal Activities at Barnone

Illegal Activities at Barnone

Monday Sessions intelligence has reason to believe that ILLEGAL activities will transpire on the 27th of November at Barnone. As yet, no other information on the said occurrence has been confirmed but word on the streets hint of the very real threat of aural assault and questionable dance moves.

Barnone personnel has dispatched specialists to deal with the impending issue.

“The perpetrators who go by the collective moniker of “Super Illegals” have yet to state their demands, but they have informed us that they will be taking the stage at some point at 8pm, though the almost incoherent slurring over the phone has given away their weakness. In view of this, we have prepared an adequate supply of beer (5 bottles at S$30) which also serves to fog the memory should there be any incident. “...a Barnone representative divulged over Sunday brunch yesterday.

So what indeed will take place on that foreboding date? Who are the Super Illegals?? Who cares? There’s beer!

I'll never fling flyers of death to the audience again.

A shout out to Lennat of ETC whom I nearly mortally injured with my flyer of death. For not throttling me and instead said I had sexy hair( The secret is you dun wash your hair and take alot of medication). Questionable eyesight aside, you ROCK GURL!

The memorable thing about the gig was that Bob was a friendly doode and puts you at ease. Playing for the renovation felt like I was part of an extended family that bands together in crucial times. Me being the estranged cousin no one's heard of who tries to have a good time and ends up dealing out flyers like they is ninja darts.

To all you reading, please dance with us on our next gig.

The End of Renovation

T'was quite a pleasant place to play. Clean, powerful aircon, nice equipment and relatively good mix in spite of the limitations. Reminiscent of the 90s when gigs were few and mostly held in small, cramped and airless places (like U-turn Studio in Novena), where everyone sweat together and made noise together. Physically uncomfortable but I could come out of it feeling good. And when a big gig happened at the Substation Garden, everyone went and everyone knows everyone else.

Nowadays, I think the gig going generation have become spoilt for choice, I'm no exception. No air-con, complain. Too many people, complain. Too few people, complain. Equipment not tip top of the line, complain. Place too small, complain. Tsk. End of the day, just rock that stage la!

Talk does not cook rice!
Conversations between plasticblackspecs and a few others regarding the gig on the 19th of Nov at 'The End' Studios

"...I like these kinda gigs. Super intimate. No "stage" with everyone around and near. You can sense and feel EVERYONE'S mood in the room. Even the audience. shiok!"

"...even with stages and all, unless the thousands of fans are pumping their fist in the air with you then will "kena", if not...."

"...actually this is like one of the best gigs I've played so far. Even with my other bands"
